Seasonal Collections

The first of Sothys’ “Seasonal Professional Cares” was launched at the beginning of March with great success.

We are sure that you agree that clients love a change and this treatment is certainly a very unique experience.

We are receiving wonderful feedback from those already working with Autumn/Winter Seasonal Care and we are anxious to try the upcoming Spring/Summer Seasonal Care. We will keep you posted when it arrives.

The new Autumn/Winter seasonal make up has been very well received. We would like to congratulate Carol from “Fit for Life” in Hokitika and Cheryl from “Exhibit” in Auckland on winning our order on the day prize of a lovely cocktail ring similar to that worn by our make up model!

New Products

SPF30+ Sunshields

Created specifically for the Australasian environment to meet Australia’s strict sun care regulations these new Sunshields are a welcomed addition to our Cellu Guard Sun Care line.

The three broad spectrum tinted shields with encapsulated micronised oxides to protect the skin from harmful UV rays in a gentle formula designed for maximum skin tolerance. Available for either Dry/Dehydrated, Sensitive/Delicate or All Skin Types ensures that there is one suitable for each skin type.

A creamy Gel (for Face and Body) UV protector with Hyaluronic Acid and emollient oil extracts for hydration protection of the skins tissue. Created without colourants to avoid staining on clothes. This formula leaves a non greasy residue on the skin and is completely invisible when absorbed. Contains Hyaluronic acid, Almond, Rosehip and Hazelnut Oil.

Rich Nourishing Cream

An old favourite is back after a short break!! This rich unctuous cream aids tissue protection when the climate or environment requires a more nourishing or softening cream. If necessary alternate the use of your regular Sothys cream in order to increase facial protection, relaxation and softness, leaving the skin matt and velvety. Ingredients: Shea Butter, Bees wax, moisturising factor and light filter.

Active Contour Age Defying Eye Cream

A new generation formula for ultra sensitive skin around the eye area which shows the initial signs of cutaneous ageing process, bags or dark circles. The water lily extracts assist in decreasing the discomfort sensation of heat and stinging. A soft fluid texture which smoothes and diminishes wrinkles, favour the attenuation of circles and bags, and hydrates the eye contour area.

The main ingredients are Water Lily Extract, yeast extracts, corn proteins, caffeine, hydra-softening complex, Centella asiatica and anti-oxidant complex.

Immuniscience Cream

The new formula with a new improved texture Immuniscience Cream is now back in stock. Siegesbeckia extract and Centaurium have been replaced by Bacopia Extract (Bacopa Monniera extract), a plant extract with soothing/anti oxidant properties.

Cabine Massage Elixir

The popular retail Aroma Sothys Massage Elixir is now available in cabine. A great option for body massage. W/S $112.00 in a 500ml bottle.

We've Been Seen

Jean Michel has been flying the Sothys flag at some recent high profile events in the Auckland area.

Fashion De Prix

Sothys were one of the major sponsors for the ‘Fashion de Prix’ on Derby Day at Ellerslie Racecourse during the Auckland Cup week, which has been growing in stature in recent years.

The catwalk was graced by over 100 entries vying for the title of best dressed and the prize pool of over $100,000 including a Mercedez Benz, overseas travel and most importantly Sothys Skincare for a year worth $5000.

Jean Michel, pictured below with the winner, following the announcement. Karen, from Karaka can take special pride in that she designed and made the outfit herself.

As part of the sponsorship, Sothys was visible for the entire event sitting in good company with Mercedes and Angela Dawson Jeweller. Sothys product sample cards were also given to all the fashion entrants as well as sent to the 5000 members on the Ellerslie database.

It was a fantastic day, and is an event which Sothys would like to support in the future.

The South Gin Party at the Polo

The recent International Zone Polo tournament at Clevedon saw an unprecedented attendance for such an event.

As part of the week long event, ‘The South Gin Party’ was a chance for all to take in the fantastic competition on the field and enjoy some incredible hospitality. Over 600 attended the party, and all the ladies received a Sothys travel size product bag to take home with them - not one bag was left on the tables!!

The guest of Honor was Patrick Hermes International Polo President and Chairman of French Fashion house “Hermes”. Jean Michel had a chance to chat with Mr Hermes who said it was great to see another established French company like Sothys supporting the Polo.

Grasmere Lodge

Some of you may remember our joint prize promotion we ran with Grasmere Lodge High Country Retreat and Next Magazine in September last year (see the image below).

The prize was an incredible weekend for two of pampering, enjoying Sothys treatments and the luxury surroundings that Grasmere offers. As it turned out, Next magazine said it was the second single biggest response they have ever had for a prize they have run with over 5000 applicants from all over the country, they obviously know a good thing when they see it!

The lucky prize winners, Claire and Wayne Wihongi of Te Atatu, Auckland were flown down to Christchurch, where their Helicopter was waiting. The pilot gave them an unforgettable half hour scenic flight over the Canterbury plains and Southern Alps before landing on the front lawn of the Grasmere Lodge homestead. Upon arriving they were shown to their private chalet where a chilled bottle of French champagne, handmade de Spa Belgian chocolates and his and hers Sothys skincare kits were waiting for them to enjoy.

Over the course of the weekend the couple indulged in fine dining, a guided 4WD tour around the Grasmere Station, and of course several Sothys treatments all in the beautiful picture perfect surroundings that is Grasmere Lodge.

What made it even more special is that Claire and Wayne used the weekend to celebrate their wedding anniversary. Claire and Wayne said it was truly a weekend they will remember for ever.

I would like to thank the staff at Grasmere Lodge including Jo who runs the Mountain Spa and Lodge Manager Tom for making this happen and giving Claire and Wayne such an unforgettable stay, Grasmere is one of New Zealand’s best kept secrets, it is a world class destination and we are proud to partner with them.

Mothers Day

With Mothers Day just around the corner its time to get those promotions on the shelf.

Training

For 2007 the Sothys training programme was reformatted to embrace the new “Agree International Sothys Aesthetician Certificate” incorporating the Sothys Training Passport. We have had very positive feedback along with great excitement at the prospect of this new initiative.

As we leave the first quarter of the New Year both Natalie and Adele have reported that the new format for training is working well, more time can be spent on each module ensuring that in particular for newcomers to Sothys the training sessions do not “overload” therapists and everyone who attends fully understands all covered. We all understand the importance of understanding the products we work with helping us to achieve great RESULTS for our clients.

For the Wellington, Lower South Island and Central regions training dates have been advised for the first six months of the year, we ask clinics in these areas to contact their Sothys Representative to advise of the training they feel would be of benefit to them allowing for the most beneficial use of the planned training session.

Please refer to your training calendar for the next quarter training dates and book in your required training ASAP as spaces are limited. Our trainers encourage and welcome all Sothys therapists as experienced therapists can contribute greatly to the training sessions.

Convention

This year we bring to you our first New Zealand Sothys Convention.

For those of you that have registered you will receive your second pack of information very soon.

We can promise you it will be a very worthwhile event with a great line up of speakers and all at the fantastic alpine location of Hanmer Springs.
